High-Performance 4-Axis Motion Control IC
NOVA Electronics – High-Performance 4-Axis Motion Control IC
The MCX514 can interface with an upper-level CPU via 8-bit or 16-bit parallel bus or I²C serial bus, and is capable of performing independent position or velocity control for up to four servo or stepper axes. Each axis can be configured for 2-, 3-, or 4-axis linear interpolation, circular interpolation, helical interpolation, unit compensation, or continuous interpolation.
Multiple MCX514 chips can also be connected to achieve multi-axis synchronous interpolation. No pulse frequency multiplier setting is required—output speed ranges from 1 pps to 8 Mpps, and the minimum unit pulse output can be freely set from 1 pps. In addition to trapezoidal acceleration/deceleration motion, the IC also supports smooth S-curve acceleration/deceleration for optimized motion profiles.
